Mutual Aid Fund

AGSEM’s Mutual Aid Fund is no longer accepting applications, as of April 7 2026, as voted by the General Assembly. The Fund will be removed from the union’s operations as of June 1 2026.

After careful deliberation, the Mutual Aid Fund Committee and the Executive Committee moved to close the fund for two reasons: the size of the fund’s budget meant that we were not able to meet the full amount requested by many applicants, and we felt the fund was not operating as a true mutual aid fund.

In place of the fund, the union voted to create a Mutual Aid Committee. The Committee will be responsible for developing a mutual aid program within the union to build solidarity and support between union members.
